Your Relationship With God

god-blog-pic.jpg
Through my work over the last twenty plus years, I have found that
the relationship most of us have with God is quite similar to those of
our human relationships.

That is why I felt called to write this blog.

My hope and prayer is that these posts will address the questions,
issues, and concerns many face with their relationship with God.
As well, to provide inspiration and guidance to help build and
strengthen your personal relationship with God.

Let us start with answering the question who is God?...

God is our Creator, Divine Parent, Healer, Comforter, Provider and Love.

God is Love.

Let me be very clear here, this is not the human form of love but rather the Principle of Love. In other words, God’s nature or essence is Love.

Allow me to explain…Love is not a feeling or an act; it just is. Humanly we feel and convey love through our thoughts, feelings and actions. Yet, this is not love but merely the expression of love.

God being Love; loves us, His children, unconditionally and eternally.

Wow! To truly soak that in deep within our souls...to truly know that we are loved fully, without having to earn it or worrying about losing it, is freeing.

You see, in our human love relationships there are often terms and conditions attached to whether we will still “love” the other person or be “loved” by the other person.

However, with our Divine Creator God, we are free to make mistakes, go off the path of righteousness, fall down again and again and yet still be eternally and fully loved.

Once we understand this fact, we are set free to open the door to not only who God is but who we are as the precious child of the Most High God.

Psalm 36:7 (NIV)

How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

1 John 3:1 (NIV)

3 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!

John 4:8 (NIV)

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

1 John 4:16  (NIV)

16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

Psalm 23 (NIV)

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

The simple answer is... with you always. Yet, I understand that it can sometimes feel that God is nowhere to be found, especially when

you are facing your darkest hour.

The good news, my friend, is that God is with you through the good, bad, exciting and

When you are interested in forming a relationship with someone, what do you do?

I am assuming you pursue them in some form, right?

This pursuit is the same for your relationship with God.

You must pursue Him in order to initiate, build, and grow your relationship.

You may be asking yourself, “How do I pursue God?”

Does God need to be found?  Do we need to go to church or a temple to “find” Him?  Is there a special way to pray that finds Him?

The answer to these questions is no.

God does not need to be found because God is present with you right now. God

Did you know that at any moment you can call on God to help you?

It is true!

Whether you have a relationship with God or not, He is always there waiting, with arms wide open,

for you to welcome Him into your heart and life.

How would you feel if you knew that Almighty God was your daddy?

Just imaging for a moment, that The One who created the universe and everything in it created you.

It is kind of mind blowing right?

The fact is that God IS your Daddy!!! In scripture, Jesus refers to God as Abba, which translated in

That is it God I am done with you!  Where are you when I need you?How could you let this happen to me?

Do you ever feel like this? Are there moments or times when you want to break up your relationship with God?

If so, then welcome!

One who is born into a loving, healthy family welcomed with unconditional love, acceptance, nurturing,  protection and provision;

grows up with a healthy self-esteem, feels secure in the world, and blossoms into all they are meant to be. Now, for the rest of us!

You see,

By definition, to have faith is to have complete trust or confidence in someone or something without proof.

However, when we are talking about faith in God what does that truly mean?

For some it means that “something out there exists.”  While for others, it means
