Dear Patricia,
So many of us women make the mistake of trying to talk to the man in our lives as if he is our girlfriend.  We want him to understand what we are thinking and more importantly what we are feeling. Most men do not want to shift through all of our feelings to hear what is going on with us. They just want us to be happy and when we are not, they want to fix it for us.

To be clearer, he is not listening to understand your feelings, he is listening to hear how he can fix it for you.  This is such a common problem that I dedicate a whole chapter to it in each of the "It's That Simple!" companion books. Moving forward with this understanding, when you are sharing with your boyfriend shift your expectations and you will have a much easier time!
