Breaking up with God

That is it God I am done with you!  Where are you when I need you? How could you let this happen to me?

Do you ever feel like this? Are there moments or times when you want to break up your relationship with God?

If so, then welcome!

To experience these types of feelings is normal, especially when you are facing a storm in this life, or better yet another storm.

Often, I have heard my clients share these feelings with me. Most of the time, they are feeling abandoned by God, which leads them to feeling angry at God.

So what is next after breaking up with God?

It is simple…making up!

Rebuilding your relationship with God after breaking up with Him takes one simple step; asking.

Simply ask God to bring you back to Him. Ask Him to make you aware of His Love and Presence in your thoughts, attitude and heart so you can feel and see His Love and Presence.

That’s it!  (So much easier that when you break up with a fellow human being)

Exodus 14:14 (NIV)

14The Lord with fight for you: you need only to be still.

Isaiah 40:29 (NIV)

29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Psalm 23:1-6 (NIV)

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

  He refreshes my soul.
    He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.
